An epoch contributes exactly one point however often the instrument looks. Readings taken inside the same epoch replace each other rather than stacking, so the record cannot be inflated by sweeping more often.

Why direction is withheld
Two points make a line and tell you nothing. Below 4 epochs this page prints WITHHELD rather than an arrow, because an arrow is read as a finding and would not have been one.
Why the record can reset
If the arithmetic behind any figure changes, the measure version changes and this table is cleared. Readings taken with a different instrument plotted on one line would be a chart that lies quietly.
